Ashley and Jake are a really sweet couple, they are affectionate and laid back which is always what a photographer hopes for. Their engagement session was in November of 2016 and it was a gorgeous fall day filled with colors of oranges and yellows and beautiful fall leaves. We started the session at Bethel college which is in Newton, Kansas. Ashley grew up in Newton, they now live there and will be getting married at the Salem Methodist Church. Bethel college has a great mix of urban and natural looking areas that created a great backdrop for this outdoorsy couple. Along with going to Bethel college, the son wray ranch engagement session part was amazing!

The day Ashley and Jake first heard about each other Jake was told by his sister he had to come meet his future wife. Little did they know she was right, they didn’t get to meet then but did soon enough and it’s clear this couple was perfect for each other.

We ended the session at Son Wray Ranch in Newton, Kansas. This venue is so amazing and it is where their reception will take place! The sunset was beautiful and a perfect Although this couple is laid back and super nice they are also very into sports and are super competitive.

One of my favorite images from this session is one where Ashley is giving Jake noogie to the head, it just captures their true personality and their fun spirit.

The ranch also has a pond which was the perfect spot for the sunset which did not disappoint. I had a great time with Ashley and Jake and look forward to their wedding in July of this year. I can’t wait to meet the rest of their families and friends and celebrate this awesome couple coming together as a family. I am so glad they chose me to be a apart of their special day!
