Bri and Zach both worked for Cerner Corporation, but that isn’t exactly how they met. They had noticed each other in the on-site gym, but didn’t really meet that way, either. One night in early 2014 at Kelly’s Westport Inn, Bri gathered a little liquid courage to approach Zach and ask if he was “that guy who always tucked his shirt in at the gym.”They eventually exchanged numbers. Soon after, Bri organized an after-school program’s Valentine’s Day party for the kids with a group of volunteers, including Zach. Afterward, the group celebrated the holiday at a bar and the couple shared their first kiss where it all began — at Kelly’s in Westport. The story continued at Eighteen Ninety Venue where their wedding reception started but there’s more….

Zach asked Bri to dinner — she originally accepted but got cold feet and canceled the morning of the date. Shortly after, Bri had a two-week work trip to Finland, where she had plenty of time to think. She decided she hoped Zach would give her another chance. When she returned, she threw a birthday party for a friend and the group went to a Royals game beforehand. Zach was there with a group of guys, and the two were able to hang out and sort through things. The rest is history.

The couple has since built a life of memorable experiences together, including trips to New York and Italy. In fact, it was during a trip to Cuba on Memorial Day weekend in 2017 that Zach proposed to Bri on the beach, procrastinating until the morning they left. Bri was completely surprised, shocked he carried the ring with him to another country. As Zach was proposing, Bri kept repeating “CUBA?” in astonishment.

But of course, she said “yes.” The two became husband and wife on April 7th, 2018 in Platte City, Missouri with a beautiful ceremony at St. Therese Catholic Church, North and a reception following at 1890 Venue.

After tying the knot, the new Mr. and Mrs. Hurst look forward to a lifetime of travel, adventure, cooking and spending time with family. Bri is from the St. Louis area and studied economics and business at Truman State University. Zach is from Jefferson City, Missouri, and studied management information systems and business at William Woods University.

Review from the Knot “Grant and his 2nd photographer, Vivian, were seriously so so great to have be part of our wedding day! We did our ceremony at a church that required an earlier in the day wedding so we were looking for a photographer that offered unlimited hours and included a 2nd photographer at a reasonable rate. Grant was the perfect fit! Him and Vivian did a fantastic job capturing every emotional, funny, and beautiful moment of our wedding day. Grant had our engagement photos back to us in less than 3 weeks and our wedding photos back to us in less than 6 weeks!! He took a TON of photos. I strongly recommend that if you are looking for a photographer in the KC area that is willing to do all day coverage and not charge an arm and a leg to reach out to Grant! You will not be disappointed!”
